About The Media Center

Specifically, the MCAET is a program of the Monterey County Office of Education, dedicated to serving all students in Monterey County, with emphasis on underserved populations. MCAET provides a positive alternative to drugs and gang violence while offering programs that enhace cognitive thinking, creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and leadership. MCAET's focus on both traditional and emerging media platforms ensures that all students, teachers, and families - including those in remote areas of Monterey County - have equal access to the benefits and the programs.

MCAET accomplishes its mission through a variety of standards-based programs designed to stimulate interest in the Visual and Performing Arts, media production, technology skills, language learning, math, spelling, and much more. Given the rapid advances in technology, The Media Center's potential for proactively empowering youth accross a board geographic range with respect for differing socio-economic status and cultures is virtually unlimited.
